Meet Margarita
Margarita is our rink mascot, lives at our home with us full time, and joins us at the rink once in a while. She was hatched in Ohio in 1992, and we hope she'll live well into her 50's. She doesn't fly - she was taken from her mother before she learned how to, but she does like to try once in a while. She is a scarlet macaw, native to the Honduras, Brazil, and South American Rain forests. Out of captivity they are on the endangered species list.
Scarlet Macaws can be loud, aggressive and bite hard (VERY HARD!) but can also be loving, playful birds with intelligence comparable to a 3 year old child. Margarita loves to play at home, but is still very nervous at the rink, and we hope you'll treat her with respect and kindness to help her overcome her fears! She loves to ride in the car, and has lots of toys but her favorites are her piano, her roller skates and her wiffle ball.
